Shallow/Pile Foundation Design

GGC. has completed lots of shallow foundation design for residential single family houses over the lower mainland areas, including structures located on the soft ground.

GGC has completed many pile projects for bridge, BC Ferry and wharf facilities. The pile design for ferry and wharf faculties involving the design of pile under axial loads and lateral berthing loads. Evaluation of lateral pile capacity and  pile deformations during a seismic event is required for project sites subject to earthquake events.

GGC have used software package developed by Enfost, including Apile, LPile and Group. We used the following methods for pile axial capacity design:

  •  α  method

  •  β  method

  • Method of US Army Corps of Engineers

  • LCPC method

  • API method

  • ICP method

 

LPile is used for single pile assessment under lateral load, and GROUP is used for pile group design.

GGC has also provided pile construction services , including pile driveability analysis and hammer system recommendations, as well as PDA testing and pile static load testing to maximize the efficiency of pile design.
